I’m Pia, the owner of Being Human Therapy.
I started this practice because I wanted to create a place where therapists could do meaningful, child-led work without feeling rushed, overwhelmed, or buried in admin.
Like many OTs, I’ve worked in environments where the pace felt too fast, the expectations unclear, and the support not always there. I wanted to build something different — a practice where clinicians feel supported, trusted, and genuinely enjoy the work they do.
As the practice grows, I’m looking for Paediatric Occupational Therapists who value thoughtful therapy, kindness, and working in a calm, supportive environment.
This could suit someone with paediatric experience, or a new graduate who wants strong supervision and a safe place to learn.
What Working Here Actually Feels Like
My goal is to keep things simple, supportive, and human.
You’ll focus on therapy, while I support the rest of the systems that make the work run smoothly.
- No service agreements to manage
- No invoicing or client intake admin
- Clear documentation expectations and templates
- Established systems so you're never guessing what to do
- We use Splose for scheduling and notes, and there’s a shared Google Drive with therapy resources so you're not constantly reinventing the wheel.
One thing that really matters to me is that no therapist here feels like they’re figuring everything out alone.
You’ll have access to:
- Regular supervision
- Case discussions
- Collaborative problem solving
- Support that matches your level of experience
If you're a new graduate, that’s absolutely okay.
What matters more is curiosity, kindness, and wanting to learn.
A Small Practice With Real Connection
You’ll be connected with other clinicians and invited to occasional OT catch-ups or networking opportunities.
These are always optional — there’s no pressure. I just like creating opportunities for connection if people want them.
I believe therapists do their best work when they feel trusted and respected.
- No micromanaging
- No pressure to over-service or inflate hours
- Clear communication and expectations
- A neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach to therapy
- The aim is for the work to feel calm, sustainable, and meaningful.
The Role
- Clinic and community-based work (schools and kinders only — no home visits)
- Children aged 0–12 years
- Flexible days and caseload by agreement
- You’ll manage your therapy sessions and documentation, while I support the business systems around you.
This Role Might Suit You If You:
- Are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist (or eligible)
- Enjoy working with children and families
- Value ethical, strengths-based practice
- Appreciate structure and support
- Want to work somewhere that genuinely cares about therapist wellbeing
Job Type: Part-time / Subcontract / Graduate
Expected Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week
- Mentoring and supervision
- A supportive learning environment
- Flexible working structure
If this sounds like the kind of environment you’d enjoy, I’d love to hear from you.
You’re welcome to send through your CV, or simply reach out for a no-pressure chat to see if it might be a good fit.
